What should I pack in my hospital bag for labor?

Before your big day arrives, it’s important to make sure you have all the necessary items packed in your hospital bag for labor. Here is a list of essential items to ensure that you have a comfortable and stress-free labor experience:

1) Loose clothing: Packing some loose and comfortable clothing is smart because it will give you the freedom to move around easily during labor. You may want to consider wearing a supportive nursing bra, slip-on shoes, or other loose-fitting garments with plenty of stretch for added flexibility.

2) Comfort items: Don't forget to pack some comfort measures like pillows, blankets, sheets from home (for birth ball/water immersion), massage tools such as marbles or rice bags (which can be heated or cooled), essential oils (for aromatherapy), music devices, books/magazines, lip balm and food snacks you enjoy.

Make sure to account for any special needs such as medications representing a medical condition or an extra set of reading glasses if needed - these are easy to forget but can be essential!

If however you're expecting an extended stay due to special circumstances like premature birth or medical complications with either mommy or baby then consider packing five outfits: two sets of sleepwear (pajamas) for day and night; two sets of clothing for daytime activities like visiting family; and an additional set of comfy clothes post-delivery if needed. For all these specific items, always check with the maternity ward at your local hospital beforehand so that they can provide more tailored advice based on their individual policies.
